🌿 Program 1 of 5 • Foundation

Foundation Program

A 16-month journey that takes a complete beginner from “what is a computer?” all the way to building real games, tools and apps in Python — one confident step at a time.

Age 10–12
No experience needed
16 Months
4 Grades × 4 Months
2 hrs/week
1 class per week
Python
Logic + Math + Code

Here’s exactly what your child will learn, month by month. Every grade builds on the last — starting with how computers think and ending with real projects they build themselves. No prior coding needed to begin.

Grade 1
Month 1–4

Digital Explorer + Math Thinking

🏆Your child learns how computers actually work and writes their very first lines of Python — building confidence before any hard coding begins.
Month 1How Computers Think

The big picture first — no code yet. Kids discover what a computer really is (Input → Process → Output), how it stores everything as 0s and 1s, and what a programming language is.

  • What is a computer? Hardware vs software
  • Binary, bits & bytes — write your name in code
  • What a programming language is & why so many exist
  • The full journey: from code to output
Month 2First Steps in Python

Time to write real code. Using live coding in Google Colab, students meet Python and create their first working programs.

  • Why we learn Python
  • Print, variables, input & output — your first programs
  • Data types, keywords & identifiers
  • Comments, and how Python works in memory
Month 3Data Types in Detail

Hands-on exploration of every way Python stores information, plus the math operators that make programs calculate.

  • Lists, tuples, sets & dictionaries
  • Arrays vs lists — what’s the difference?
  • Math operators: +, −, ×, ÷, %, power
  • Operator precedence — what happens first
Month 4Logic & Decisions

Students learn to make programs think and choose — and build their first mini-projects that solve real math problems.

  • Understanding errors & type conversion
  • Comparison, logical & ternary operators
  • if / else / match — making decisions
  • Loops (for, while), break, continue & pass
Grade 2
Month 5–8

Logic Builder + Applied Math

🏆Students turn coding basics into real, working apps — strengthening problem-solving and building projects they can proudly show off.
Month 5Working with Text (Strings)

After a two-week recap and deep loop practice, students learn to handle words and text like a pro.

  • String operations & slicing
  • Built-in tools: split, join, replace, strip
  • Upper/lower case, find, len, format
  • Comparing text using ASCII values
Month 6Functions — Reusable Code

Kids discover how to package code into reusable ‘functions’ — a huge step toward thinking like a real programmer.

  • What a function is & why it matters
  • Calling functions & using built-ins
  • Arguments and their types
  • How functions work at the memory level
Month 7Consolidation Month

A full review month. Everything from Grades 1–2 is revisited and reinforced so no student is left behind.

  • Repeat & strengthen all core concepts
  • Extra practice & support
  • Confidence-building challenges
Month 8Build Real Projects

The exciting payoff — students build complete Python programs from scratch.

  • A working calculator (scientific optional)
  • Movie ticket booking with discounts
  • A weather planner
  • A to-do list app
Grade 3
Month 9–12

Python Beginner + Math Logic

🏆Students step up to real developer tools and object-oriented thinking — the foundation professional programmers use every day.
Month 9Intermediate Python & Real Tools

Students set up a professional coding environment and learn the tools real developers use worldwide.

  • Installing VS Code on their own PC
  • Modules and pip (adding new powers to Python)
  • Git & GitHub — saving and sharing code
  • Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
Month 10Thinking in Objects

A gentle, project-led introduction to one of programming’s most powerful ideas.

  • The benefits of OOP, explained simply
  • A hands-on Quiz Project
  • Organising code the professional way
Month 11Math Meets Code

Students apply their skills to build genuinely useful calculators.

  • Polygon area calculator
  • Money / currency conversion calculator
  • Turning math formulas into working code
Month 12More Real-World Builds

A project-packed month that ties everything together.

  • Age calculator
  • Decimal-to-binary converter
  • Currency converter, refined
  • Polishing & presenting projects
Grade 4
Month 13–16

Python Builder + Creative Coding

🏆The grand finale — students create graphics, games and useful tools with buttons and windows, ending the program as confident young builders.
Month 13Graphics & Screens (GUI)

Programs get visual! Students learn to make windows, buttons and interfaces using Python’s Tkinter.

  • Introduction to Python graphics
  • Building a GUI (Graphical User Interface)
  • Working with Tkinter
Month 14Fun Graphics Projects

The most fun month — students build things they’ll love to play with and share.

  • A Snake game
  • A digital clock & countdown timer
  • ASCII art creations
  • Optional bonus math projects
Month 15Bringing It All Together

Students combine everything learned so far into larger, more ambitious builds and refine their skills.

  • Extended project work
  • Debugging & improving their code
  • Preparing final showcase projects
Month 16Capstone Projects

Students finish the Foundation program by building genuinely useful real-world tools.

  • Internet connection checker
  • JPG-to-PNG image converter
  • Easy photo ‘cartoonifier’
  • Duplicate file remover
